Items of Interest

–A very interesting interview with Mark Shepard of New Forest Farm in Wisconson, one of the largest diverse tree-crop-based agroforestry farms in the US (and apparently profitable!).  I want to visit and learn from what he’s doing!

–My friend Connor O’Malley writes beautifully here about synchronicity and building relationship with animals.

–Two pictures from the first-ever New England Bird Language Intensive, which I just co-led with Dan Gardoqui and Maureen Gromiller in Cape Neddick, ME.  A week of kestrels, warblers, woodcocks, and deep connections.  Enjoy!

American Woodcock nest on the ground in dry woods.

Bird dissection session. All birds died of natural causes in wildlife rehab centers or as roadkill. How many species can you recognize?
